I am Flávia, a clinical psychologist, Brazilian, living in Amsterdam since 2021. The years as an expatriate have taught me that this is a complex experience, which requires flexibility, reinvention, and some specific elements to be fruitful.

Self-knowledge is one of these elements, as well as support and shared humanity. These elements are present in psychotherapy. I work with Schema Therapy (make this a link), a contemporary and scientifically based approach.

I have a degree in Psychology from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), a master’s in Neurodevelopmental Psychology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), with training in Schema Therapy from the Dutch Institute for Schema Therapy, with Professor Dr. Remco Van Wijngaard (2024).

What I do:
Get to know Schema Therapy

I help expatriate women to understand the origins of their difficulties and generate lasting changes, using Schema Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, both scientifically based approaches.

Schema Therapy identifies dysfunctional patterns developed in childhood that generate difficulties in adult life.

Steps in Schema Therapy:

1- Mapping of your emotional, cognitive and behavioral functioning pattern (schemas and modes) & Identification of your unmet emotional needs.
2- Together we draw up therapeutic objectives and goals.
3- We establish adaptive coping strategies for each of the identified dysfunctional patterns, through active imagination, cognitive restructuring and new behavioral responses.

I follow the ethical guidelines of the CFP (Brazil) and NIP (Netherlands) when conducting the sessions.

Online Individual Psychotherapy

Service based on Schema Therapy, aimed at adult women who want to understand their emotional and behavioral patterns, strengthen self-esteem and improve the
quality of their relationships.

For groups of newly graduated psychologists who wish to deepen their knowledge in the approach.

Currently, I do not work with health insurance plans. Depending on your health plan, you may be able to obtain a partial reimbursement of the amount paid for sessions.
